Welcome!

Welcome to Backcountry Betties & Babies!

Here's what we're all about:

  • Moms & kids connecting with other moms & kids...
  • Adults and children enjoying the outdoors...and
  • People supporting one another in their passion for outdoor adventure!

This group is for you if:

  • You have a child(ren) and enjoy getting outside with them...
  • You don't have a child but want to support other women in continuing their outdoor adventures...
  • You love the outdoors, children, and women who rock!

[Please note that BB&B is a 'connections' group; event planners are not professional mountain guides.]

When the Sun Comes Out...

A few of us got out all weekend in the sun, along with the swarms of other Seattleites, desperately seeking some Vitamin D and warmth. Saturday, we enjoyed lunch by Rattlesnake Lake, and then headed on an 11-mile hike up to the ledge and into Snoqualmie. On Sunday, we got in a few climbs and then headed to the river for a cool-down.

Rattlesnake Ledge from the lakeside.

Baby Drew enjoying peanut butter

(it tastes better in the nude).

Atop the ledge with the crowd.

Heather & Joanne, hiking in the snow (in May).

Sunday by the river...Carrie & Drew.

Some river meditation.

38th Bday at 38!

What better way to celebrate a birthday than to go climbing with friends on a sunny day?! Happy Birthday Robin! We headed to Exit 38 and did some of the nearby 'trestle' climbs. This was a good place to go with a baby in the group, as it was accessible by stroller and relatively 'kid-friendly/safe'.

BB&B co-founder, Carrie, is thrilled to be out with Drew

for their first climbing adventure together!

A major source of inspiration & joy,

THE founder baby of BB&B...well on his way to being a climber!

And a good time was had by all!
