Harvest Festival / Fall City Farms

By far one of the best farms we have been to this season!  Free to visit - the only cost being food, pumpkins, and a dollar hay ride.  Beautiful gardens full of colorful dahlias, corn, squash, pumpkins, an apple cider stand, friendly farm dogs (who also love the hay ride - jumping on and off and on and off - a real crowd pleaser), a cuddly donkey, cow and her calf, homemade deep fried sugar donuts, a pumpkin launcher and a wonderful hay maze.  I especially like this farm because there was enough "breathing room" for everyone on a busy weekend.

Sweat and Fun

Ellie & I enjoyed ourselves riding several trails at Duthie Hill Park, a free mountain bike park with trails from beginner to expert. We had a fantastic time riding the easy loop and then adding on a few intermediate loops. These trails are great fun, with enough uphill climbs to get you sweating, but also a lot of roller-coaster, corner-turning downhill goodness.

We had so much fun that we forgot to stop for a 'glamour shot' for the blog. Oh well...join us next time and you'll see for yourself!

Seriously Yummy

Ladies, if you haven't signed up to be a 'gear tester' for OutdoorBaby yet, you really should! You get free gear and some of it is awesome. Some of it is just comical, such as the 'Biffy Bag' personal disposable toilet.

Anyway, I recently had the opportunity to 'test' Tram Bars energy bars. All I can say is, "Wow!" I have never been an energy bar girl. I'd much rather eat real food, even if it takes more time and a little more weight in my pack. However, I've converted. These bars are AMAZING! I just ordered a massive quantity to keep in our 'mountain food' cupboard. These are home-made bars with basic, high-quality ingredients. I don't typically promote products -that's not what I'm here to do- but I just wanted to share Tram Bars with you b/c they are truly awesome. Check them out at http://www.trambars.com/!
