Repurposing

I started Backcountry Betties & Babies in 2010 with a dream of creating a network of women supporting each other in continuing outdoor adventures in all stages of life, specifically during the years of raising children. Although many women thought this was a great idea and supported its launch, the reality is that my dream never really got off the ground, at least not in the way that I envisioned.

Now in 2014, Backcountry Betties & Babies still exists and I'm deciding whether or not to continue to keep it going. In the meantime, I still have this blogpost address and have ceased using it since we moved to MeetUp. Tonight, I felt inspired to repurpose this blog site. From here forward, I will be posting regularly (once a week) on my thoughts as an avid outdoorswoman and mom.

When I was pregnant, I searched the internet for examples of women having fun in the outdoors post-kids. I knew that my life would change dramatically. I needed to know that I could continue to do the things I love, the activities that make me feel alive, that rejuvenate me and clear my mind. I didn't have many real-life examples of women like this, and thus I read about folks in other places via their blogs. I still read those blogs and find them to be inspiring. To that end, my first post will be a list of cool sites that you might also enjoy if you are a mom or mom-to-be. See below. :)
